Industrial Health and Safety Specialist
Position Type & Compensation:

Position Description:
Prepare, review, update and/or assist with implementation of OSHA policies, programs and plans within the industrial and manufacturing arena. Conduct OSHA training sessions, accident/incident investigations, and safety compliance assessments and offer corrective action solutions to identified compliance/behavioral concerns. Assist with implementation, follow-up and documentation of corrective actions. Compile, analyze, record and/or report health and safety program implementation data and information.

Examples of Industrial Health and Safety Specialist Duties:
 Conduct New Employee Health and Safety, Lockout/Tagout, Hearing Conservation,
Respiratory Protection training.
 Develop and assist with implementation of facility health and safety policies and procedures to address internal corporate, OSHA, ISO 45001 and/or VPP standard requirements.
 Prepare, review and/or update Bloodborne Pathogens Exposure Control Plan, Respiratory Protection Program and Emergency Action Plan.
 Conduct facility-wide OSHA health and safety standards compliance inspection and prepare summary report.
 Conduct accident or near-miss investigation, to include root-cause analysis and corrective action identification and dissemination.

Required Experience, Skills and Competencies:
BS/BA degree and minimum five (5) years health and safety program oversight and implementation experience in the industrial or manufacturing arena required. CIH, CSP, CSM, CHMM certifications preferred. Applicant must be motivated, dependable and willing to work in a fast paced environment.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously required. Must be able to prioritize and complete tasks effectively with minimal oversight. Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook is required.
