We are pleased to announce the establishment of a new Student Section at the University of North Carolina at Charlotte. The UNCC Student Section is under the school’s Fire and Safety Engineering Technology Program, in the department of Engineering Technology and Construction Management.
Many thanks to Dr. Michael Benjamin, who is the faculty advisor; the student section officers, the Executive Committee of ASSP Tarheel Chapter and others that supported this long-time dream that has now become reality.
“Since students are from the Fire Safety Engineering Technology Program, we have aimed to gear this club (the section) to the safety applications of the field of fire protection, but still cover the general safety practices” – Seth Averette, Student Section President.
It was about this same time last year that the Region welcomed Liberty University Student Section in Lynchburg, Virginia. We are excited that our students are getting engaged with professional activities from college, which is a boost for their future career paths.
